Description:
This email hoax informs the user about a supposed #77 feature available in a cellphone, which functions like an emergency number. It advises the user to call #77 whenever faced with an emergency situation like the example in the email.
Users are advised to delete this email, disregard its contents, and not forward it to other users.

I never knew about this #77 feature. This actually happened to someone's daughter.
Lauren was 19 years old and in college. It was the Saturday before New Year's, about 1 p. m. in the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on. Lauren's parents have 4 children (high school and college age) and have always told them never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road but rather wait until they get to a gas station, etc.
So Lauren actually listened to her parent's advice and promptly called #77 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her.
The dispatcher checked to see if there was a police car where she was and there wasn't. He told her to keep driving, remain calm, and he had back-up already on the way.
Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her and the unmarked car behind her. One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground. The man turned out to be a convicted rapist and was wanted for other crimes.
I never knew that bit of advice, but especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have to respect your right to keep going to a "safe" place. You obviously need to make some signal that you acknowledge them (i. e. , putting on your hazard lights) or call #77 like Lauren did.
Too bad the cell phone companies don't give you this little bit of wonderful information. So now it's your turn to let your friends know about #77 . . . good information that I did not know.
Please pass this on to any females that you know.

I just had a small question?
I have polio and been trying to find a support group
in the city of San Antonio.
I have had this all my llife and would be nice to speak to someone else that knows what i'am talking about. My doctor's have no cule, some even state they have never seen this anymore or ever! Which is not the thing you what to hear. But anyway if someone can give me information it would be great.

Thank you for contacting us;hard to maintain the siteup to date.. Just got out of the Hospital for ? respiratory problems. Anyway, Have to get your answer.
We do have a support group called San Antonio Polio Survivors Association.We meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 1 - 3 PM at Warm Springs Resourcenter for People with Disabilities @ 5101 Medical Drive Room 132.
Our contact people are: Michael Beard -- 210.490.3190 or michael78247@yahoo.com ;Ruth Moon 210.523.6216 or Moonfamily3@sbcglobal.net; Ethel Taylor 210.696.1710 or blueangel7131@sbcflobal.net. Our speaker for the next month, 9 Nov, is a lady from the Scooter Wearhouse on Fredericksburg Rd.
I think you will find that we have a congenial group. At present there are no dues but that might change in the near furture to about $1.00/meeting to defrey some of the expenses. We appreciate any suggestions for speakers as well as suggestions for improvement. Our motto is: :"Education,Fellowship,Resources and Support."
Before I forget it it we do have a tentative healthcare providers list whom our members have formed for their personal use.
